Translations of documents intended for official purposes (official acts, judicial proceedings, police investigations, contractual matters) must be furnished with official authentication for them to be recognised. This authentication consists of a special clause and the official stamp of the court-approved translator. A translation prepared in this way satisfies the requirements of government bodies in relation to submitting documents for official acts in a foreign language, both in the Czech Republic and abroad.

In some cases it is necessary to officially verify the actual court-approved translator/interpreter him/herself or whether he/she is actually registered with the relevant court as an expert in the language in question.

The documents themselves are also verified, whether in the form of legalization, superlegalization, provision of an apostille or notarial authentication of a copy of the document in question.

Given that procedures and the individual requirements made of individual documents differ, we recommend discussing how to authenticate your translation with our translation authentication department.
